Ballarat resident Peter Van Schie has spent over three years of his retirement writing a modern-day thriller titled “The Shack”. It is the story of two good mates, Frank and Sean, who have an unhapppy knack of finding trouble. This leads them to tangle with some nasty characters such as Dominic Drogo, a drugs importer and stand-over man. Then, when the boys unearth a plot to assassinate the Sri Lankan Minister for Education during a visit to the University of Ballarat, their very lives are at risk.

Set amid the beauty of north-wast Tasmania, the bustling suburb of St Kilda, and, finally, the green fields of Mount Helen, “The Shack” is a fast-moving, often hilarious, adventure yarn.
