Western Oval Upgrade To Be Unveiled

What: Official Opening of the Western Oval upgrade project

When: Thursday 13 July, 4.30pm

Where: Western Oval, corner Pleasant and Eyre Streets, Redan

 

A major upgrade of the Western Oval will be officially opened by City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh, Deputy Mayor Cr Mark Harris, Member for Buninyong Geoff Howard MP, and representatives of the Brown Hill Cricket Club and Redan Football Netball Club tomorrow.

The City of Ballarat will also join club representatives to officially open the Western Oval’s new netball court and kitchen upgrade.

The City of Ballarat has provided majority funding for the Western Oval project, which includes:

  • $250,000 from the City of Ballarat for oval irrigation and drainage works, with $50,000 from the State Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund
  • $240,000 from the City of Ballarat’s Sport & Active Living capital expenditure program for a new netball court
  • City of Ballarat Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP) contribution of $6,000 and significant club contributions for a kitchen and canteen upgrade.
