A community event to discuss bushfire risk and fuel management in areas across the Hepburn Shire will be held on Sunday 10 December.
Forest Fire Management Victoria Midlands District Manager, Jasmine Filmer said: “We are keen to talk to local residents to gain better understanding of community perceptions of bushfire risk and approaches to management in the Daylesford-Hepburn Springs area”.
“There will also be opportunity to discuss summer fire predictions and preparedness with Forest
Fire Management Victoria, CFA and Hepburn Shire Council as part of this event”, Ms Filmer said.

When: Sunday 10 December, 11.00am – 1.00pm
“People are invited to drop in to this combined agency community meeting and barbecue to discuss the bushfire risks in the local landscape, emergency responses and community safety with experienced fire managers.
“Bushfires are a part of life in Victoria. Forest Fire Management Victoria, CFA and Hepburn Shire Council are committed to working safer together with local communities in decision making about bushfire management.
“This means understanding the priorities of each community and working with them to determine local solutions to reduce bushfire risk.
“Our collective knowledge of bushfire, combined with the community’s understanding of what is important, their local knowledge and experience, informs our actions.
