The Ballarat community will have access to better court amenities at two popular sporting facilities following recent upgrades.
Aging tennis courts at Mount Helen have recently been upgraded, providing users with a smoother surface for playing.
The three courts at the home of the Mount Helen Tennis Club were resurfaced with a new acrylic surface, which is expected to help increase the usage of the courts among the tennis community.
This $60,000 project was funded by the City of Ballarat, with the Mount Helen Tennis Club also contributing $2500 towards the resurfacing.
The new courts were completed in January and are now operational.
Similar upgrades were also recently undertaken at the Ballarat Netball Association Llanberris Reserve.
As part of an upgrade to provide safer courts for users, netballers will now have access to two newly resurfaced and marked outdoor courts, as well as, improved lighting.
The lighting upgrade to 200 lux now meets netball competition standards.
This $50,000 court resurfacing and $100,000 lighting upgrade projects, which were completed this week, were fully funded by the City of Ballarat.
