Residents Encouraged To Head To Their Local Bunnings To Help Raise Funds For the Victorian Country Fire Authority
January 20 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Media Release – January 2018
Australians will once again have the chance to help raise much needed funds through Bunnings’ annual Emergency Services Volunteers BBQ, taking place at all stores on Saturday 20th of January 2018.
Local Ballarat residents are encouraged to head to Bunnings Warehouse Ballarat between 9am and 4pm to buy a snag (or two) or make a donation, with all funds raised going directly to support Glen Park CFA and Glen Park Fire Brigade.
CFA Chief Officer Steve Warrington said he is always excited for this time of year to roll around as it’s great to see the community come together to help support the emergency services.
“Fire and emergency services play a crucial role in our community during fire season and throughout the year. Please be sure to take some time to talk to your family and friends about what to do if a fire starts at your house or nearby.
“Make sure you follow the daily Fire Danger Rating forecast and always monitor conditions on hot, dry, windy days and leading up to them.
“We would like to thank Bunnings and their customers for their ongoing support and for providing CFA with an opportunity to support our volunteers. Their resilience, team work and dedication to protect lives and property across the community is invaluable.”
Bunnings Warehouse Ballarat Complex Manager, Justin Caffey said this is a terrific way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for these everyday heroes and the important work they carry out by on a day to day basis.
“The team is looking forward to manning the BBQ and doing their bit to help raise funds and awareness at such a critical time of year for CFA,” said Justin Caffey.
